CAULIPOWER was founded by Gail Becker in 2016 when she noticed there was no good, convenient gluten-free pizza option available for her sons with celiac disease.A marketing and communications professional with no prior food-industry experience, she decided that rather than constantly making crusts from scratch (which took her 90 minutes!), she would create something premade, nutritious, and delicious. 

With that, CAULIPOWER launched its first frozen cauliflower crust pizza in early 2017. The innovation: using cauliflower as a primary ingredient to make gluten-free crust pizza that didn’t feel like a compromise. The brand prioritises real ingredients, naturally derived materials, and gluten-free formulations, catering especially to people with celiac disease but appealing broadly to anyone seeking cleaner, healthier comfort food. 

Values at the heart of CAULIPOWER include transparency, flavour, and accessibility. Becker used her marketing expertise to build buzz around the brand, often using bold packaging, playful messaging, and clear communication about gluten content. She insisted on quality control and taste so that the product stands on its own merit. The brand has rapidly scaled, moving into thousands of stores across North America.

The nutritional profile typically offers lower carbohydrates compared to conventional pizza crusts, fewer gluten-driven digestive concerns, and fits into many diet plans (gluten-free, often lower in net carbs), while still delivering satisfying flavour, crisp-crust edges, good melt, and familiar pizza experience.
