ChocoSol is more than just a dairy-free chocolate; it’s a movement rooted in tradition and old-school stone ground chocolate making techniques.
Originally founded in Oaxaca, Mexico by Michael Sacco and now based out of Toronto Canada, their stone-ground vegan dark chocolate is made from direct-trade cacao and crafted with flavour at the forefront. Bold, ethical, and delicious, ChocoSol chocolate bars are gluten-free Certified, dairy-free, and made with the cacao farmers at the forefront. Direct trade dark chocolate, crafted the way it was meant to be.
ChocoSol is on a threefold mission;
To craft revolutionary chocolate that is good for mind, body, and soil; to lead and learn alongside the global craft chocolate community; and to collaborate with Indigenous communities across the Americas in support of ecological regeneration.
ChocoSol was founded in 2004 by Michael Sacco in Oaxaca, Mexico. Michael wanted to return to the traditional roots of cacao, all while making something tasty and good for you. The first batches of ChocoSol dairy free chocolate were made by hand using traditional chocolate making techniques by hand-roasting the cacao beans under the sun, and stone grinding by hand. His first batches sold like wildfire in local markets, and ChocoSol was born.
Today, ChocoSol is based out of Toronto, Canada! Michael works with his partner Jessica who helped name the brand; the Sol in ChocoSol is tri-lingual. Sol for Sun in Spanish, Earth in French, and of course, the Soul in English; Sun, soil, and soul, the 3 core roots of old school dark chocolate making. Direct trade vegan dark chocolate, hand crafted the old school way, without compromise.Â
