Want back those easy Sunday morning vibes? While we can’t give you more time in the day, we can definitely–at least hopefully–save you some time with some quick and easy breakfast hacks so you can get your day started for when you need it! If you’re anything like us, you love sleep and are desperate to get more of it, or if you’re on the total opposite side with a 4am wake up and have a whole itinerary for your day and juice out every minute, then we’re sure that these breakfast hacks will be perfect for you!

Meal prepping for your breakfast

Now if you’re in the thick of your health game and meal prepping is something that you’ve become all too familiar with when it comes to saving time throughout your day, or you’re new to the meal prepping game, then we’re sure these meal prep ideas will be absolutely perfect for those days when you wake up late, or don’t have enough time to spare!

Ice Cube Tray Pancakes

This is an easy one and great for those who love pancakes! Simply get your favorite pancake mix, and prep it as it’s instructed on the box. You can also make the mix from scratch if you have the time and if you know how to make them, but this recipe is going to be the easier, time saving kind because one of the benefits of meal prep is to save time! Once you’ve mixed up your pancake mix, get an empty ice tray and fill them with the batter. You can add toppings you normally would like chocolate chips, diced up fruits, etc.

Once you’re ready to make them, simply take out as many ice cubes that you’d like (each cube will make 1 pancake, so if you wan’t 2 then take out 2).

Oil up your pan and set the cubes on top. Once they’ve melted down and browned on one side, flip them over and brown on the other side.

Serve with more toppings that you couldn’t use in your batter mix like syrup, nut butter, chocolate spread, or anything else you want to make the dish your own, and enjoy this quick and easy breakfast that you can make in 5 minutes or less!

Overnight Chia Seed Pudding

If you’re looking for a protein dense yet quick and easy breakfast to have, look no further than overnight chia seed pudding! Chia seeds are considered one of the best superfoods out there, which have a high count of both fiber and protein and are rich in omega-3 fatty acids and other necessary nutrients. It aids in digestive health and can be used as a substitute for eggs as well, depending on how you want to use them! But this recipe is a sweeter, and easy way to integrate chia seeds into your diet and only needs just 3 ingredients! All you would need is chia seeds, honey and milk or a milk alternative

Pour your chia seeds (they need to be fresh chia seeds) and your milk into the container or jar of your choice and stir. Once the chia seeds and milk have been stirred, add in your honey, and keep stirring until the mix is fully blended throughout the container. Make sure there’s no clumps left over and let the mixture sit for about 5 to 10 minutes, and give it a final few stirs just to get any clumps that may have risen throughout. This should dissolve any lingering clumps and mix the chia seeds with the milk and  honey fully! You can also customize your puddings by adding in things like fresh fruits, cocoa powder, jam of your choosing, have your pudding whichever way you want, just make sure all added ingredients are fully mixed together before you refrigerate it!

Once you're done, cover it and refrigerate it overnight.

By morning, viola! You have yourself a nutrient and protein dense breakfast ready as soon as you take it out of the fridge! This hack is probably one of the easiest ones as it requires no other prepping time once you’re ready to eat it, and you can make multiple batches to have throughout the week!

Premade Frozen Burrito Breakfast

Love yourself a breakfast burrito but don’t have the time to make one some mornings and don’t want to rely on a fast food breakfast burrito for your health kick? Not to worry because we’ve got a stella recipe that takes as little as 30 minutes to make and prep in batches so you can have a burrito every morning of the week without using too much time. All you would need are the ingredients of your choosing for the filling, most commonly used ingredients are sliced or diced bell peppers, sliced or diced onions, beans, eggs, salt, black pepper, cheese, salsa (you can either add it while prepping your burritos for the week or you can serve when you’re ready to eat it, it’s up to you), and tortillas!

Heat up your skillet or pan with some oil and saute your onions and bell peppers until soft, then add in your beans and cook for about 2 minutes before adding in your eggs to scramble!

Add in your seasonings (salt, black pepper) and cook until they are done all the way through.

Warm up your tortillas for a few seconds in the microwave to give them a bit more flexibility if you’re taking them out of the fridge/freezer, and divide the eggs evenly between the tortillas.

Add in your cheese, or go cheeseless if you don’t vibe with it, and wrap them up!

For any burritos that you’re not planning on eating right away, let them cool off a bit and wrap them up in some saran wrap to store in your freezer! These can usually be kept in your freezer for about 1-2 months, if you want to switch up your breakfasts and not have a breakfast burrito every day.

When you are ready to serve yourself, you can remove the saran wrap from the burritos and warm up in your microwave (wrapping it in a paper towel helps keep the moisture retained), or you can toast them up in a toaster oven, or rewarm on a grill pan for a few minutes on both sides!

This is when you can put some salsa in the folds of your burrito or serve on the side for dipping!

Enjoy!

Breakfast Smoothies

A tried and true method of getting all you need in the smoothest way possible; the breakfast smoothie! The breakfast smoothie has been around for decades in the health game, and is one of the easiest and most versatile breakfasts to have. Not only can you add just about anything to a smoothie, you can also prep your smoothie ingredients and freeze them so that when you’re ready to enjoy a smoothie, all you have to do is blend them up! You can prepack your fruits and leafy greens in ziplock bags and keep them in your freezer until you’re ready to enjoy your smoothies so you can have an even distribution between your smoothies, and you can also keep your powders and butters next to your blender so that you can add in nut butter, honey, milk or milk alternative to your smoothies when you’re ready to blend up your ingredients! Or, if you want to stick with fresh fruits rather than pre-freezing for the week, and are adding ice to it, you can prepare all your ingredients and keep them in your blender, just add ice and blend and you have yourself a fresh smoothie, every day if you want one every day!

Your microwave is your best friend!

There’s actually a lot of different ways to utilize your microwave when it comes to your breakfast, it’s not limited to just reheating your pre-frozen meals, you can also cook with it! Many people will cook their eggs in the microwave (with the shells off, of course), as it’s a convenient and quick way to cook eggs that require little effort, just grab a microwave safe bowl and melt down some butter or an alternative to butter, and once it’s melted, simply plop an egg in with the seasonings of your choice, whisk it together until the mix is uniform and then pop in the microwave for 30-45 seconds, you can check at the 30 second mark to see if they’re cooked to your preference or microwave them for the remaining 15 seconds, and there you have it!

You can also cook bacon in the microwave too! Just get a microwave safe plate and line with some paper towels. Lay a few strips of bacon (make sure they don’t touch each other) and then place another paper towel on top to prevent any splattering. Cooking times do vary depending on the microwave, but 3-4 minutes is usually the best timeframe! Once they’re done, serve up next to your microwaved scrambled eggs and you have a whole breakfast in less than 5 minutes!

Optimize your cooking space!

Utilizing your cooking space/kitchen is a key component for a seamless breakfast itinerary, especially when it comes to adding things to your dishes in the mornings! Keeping all your blendable, dry ingredients together and setting them next to your blender for example will both help in time and for you not to forget to add in those crucial greens or supplements! To save up on space too, you can pre-portion your powders in sealable bags or containers and keep these next to your blender, rather than keeping all the different tubs and packets! Investing in the right materials definitely helps in the long run when it comes to easy cooking techniques and the more you do it, the more you’ll find what works for you and what doesn’t, it’s all about experimenting to get the most out of your breakfast meal hacks! Practice makes perfect as they say!

We hope these breakfast hacks help save you time in your day or let you sleep in some more, either way, hacks are a way to enjoy your days to the fullest extent, and what better way to start your day than with an easy breakfast that takes less than 10 minutes to make?
