Makes 6 bagels
Ingredients
1 Tablespoon Sesame seeds
1 Tablespoon Poppy seeds
½ Tablespoon Dried onion flakes
½ Tablespoon Dried garlic flakes
1 Teaspoon Sea salt
1 Cup Water
6 Egg whites + 1 Egg yolk for brushing the tops of the bagels
2 Tablespoons Vinegar
1 10.2oz package Real Bread Grain Free Hamburger Bun Mix
Instructions
1. In a shallow bowl, combine the sesame seeds, poppy seeds, onion flakes, garlic flakes, and sea salt. Set aside.
2. Preheat the oven to 400F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Add the water, egg whites, and vinegar into a large bowl and mix to combine. Slowly add the hamburger bun mix to the wet mixture, and stir well to combine. Once combined, allow the mixture to sit, covered, for a couple minutes to thicken.
3. Gently knead the dough until it tightens up and becomes more of a traditional dough like texture - about 2 minutes. Divide the dough into 6 equal portions. Roll each section into a ball, then slightly flatten with the palms of your hands. Use your thumb to push a hole through the middle of the dough round to form a bagel-like shape.
4. Place the bagels on the baking sheet, and brush the tops with egg yolk. Dip the yolk brushed half of the bagel into the seasoning blend to generously coat. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until fluffy and tops are golden brown. Enjoy with cream cheese spread.
5. Store in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
