Simple Bean Burgers with Spicy Mayo

Craving meatless but still want flavour? These Simple Bean Burgers get a fiery upgrade with Acid League’s Spicy Serrano Mayo - creamy, bold, and full of flavour. Easy to make, hard to resist! 

 

Gluten-Free, High-Protein

 

Ingredients: 

1 can black beans, drained and rinsed

½ onion, cut into wedges

3 cloves garlic, peeled

1 egg

1 tsp chili powder

¼ tsp ground cumin

1 teaspoon Acid League Spicy Serrano Mayo

½ cup gluten-free bread crumbs

1 tbsp olive oil

Sea salt, to taste

Black pepper, to taste

 

For assembly:

4 gluten-free hamburger buns

4 cheese slices (cheese of your choice)

Lettuce

Tomato

Pickles

 

Directions:

1. In a food processor, puree beans until mashed. Add onion and garlic and puree until well combined.

2. In another bowl, stir together egg, chili powder, cumin, and spicy mayo in a small bowl. Add to the mashed beans and stir to combine. Mix in bread crumbs until the mixture is sticky and holds together.

3. Divide the mixture into four patties and set aside.

4. Heat a large skillet or grill over medium-high heat with 1 tbsp olive oil. Once hot, cook two patties at a time. Season with salt and pepper. Make sure to give patties a hard sear on both sides.

5. Once all patties are cooked, serve on burger buns with toppings of your choice.
