Sometimes, a quick and easy pudding or jello can hit the spot when we’re craving something sweet and don’t want to fill up too much, especially after a big meal, and that’s a treat enough! Some of you may be wondering what the big deal is having desserts, but for those of us who always have a separate stomach for these sweet and comforting dishes, there are those days where we really need that, especially after a tough day. Like working out, or eating spicy foods, eating desserts do the same thing to our bodies chemically because most desserts usually have loads of sugar that give us that rush of endorphins. But, it’s because of this excessive amount of sugar and other empty carbs attributed to desserts that turn most people away, especially now with many modern diets that want to work on cutting down on sugar, dessert, or any other excess of “indulgence”, if you will because for many, dessert is an indulgence. Here at Natura Market, we want to turn the idea of desserts on its head, because everyone should be able to enjoy dessert without worry or stress about the sugar, empty carbs, and the crash after the sugar high is gone, so here are a few recipes of those simple, comforting desserts that you can have at the end of your day made healthy!
Salted Caramel Fudge Brownies
Brownies is widely known and loved as one of the easier desserts anyone can make, and is perfect for those who love chocolate! To make this dish even easier, you can use Sweets From The Earth's keto brownies and just drizzle sugar free caramel syrup with some fine sea salt on top, but if you have some time to spare, and want to try your hand at an easy baking session, here’s a quick and easy recipe to make yourself a perfect batch of ooey-gooey brownie goodness!
What You’ll Need
A fudge brownie mix of your choosing (we’re going with a sugar free option)
Parchment paper to line your pan
Sugar free caramel syrup to drizzle on top of your brownies
Chocolate chips (optional, but it definitely adds another layer of ooey-gooey in your brownies, so definitely recommended!)
Preheat your oven to 350 F and line your pan with parchment paper
Mix the fudge brownie mix with the ingredients needed, so for this mix, we’ll need 2 eggs, and ½ stick of unsalted butter. Both of these can be swapped out depending on your diet, so instead of eggs, you can try mashed up banana, yogurt, or ground up flaxseed with water in lieu (results and taste may vary depending on these substitutions), and any kind of nut butter in lieu of the unsalted butter. (2 tablespoons should be enough for the ½ stick measurement, but add as you see fit!) If you’re adding in chocolate chips, add those in until everything is uniform!
Once the ingredients are fully mixed, pour the mixture into the pan and spread evenly throughout, by now, your oven should be all heated up and ready for you to pop in your brownies to bake! Bake for 20 minutes at 350 F, or until you can push a toothpick through and it comes away clean.
After it’s done baking, set aside to cool for 10 minutes or so. Once it’s cooled down a bit, get your sugar free caramel syrup and drizzle as much as you want along the top of your brownies. Sprinkle some fine sea salt and you’re done!
Cut as usual and enjoy!
